Your Host Patrick "Paddy " Murphy has had an extensive career in Hospitality spanning an impressive 36 Years. Beginning with six years as a Leading Steward in the Royal Australian Navy, Patrick  was then recruited to Government House Melbourne where he was footman to the Governor of Victoria. After a brief overseas holiday Patrick began his career with Hyatt Hotels Australia where he quickly moved up the ranks to Executive Assistant Manager at Hyatt Regency Coolum. Patrick has also worked in Hotels in America, Japan, Taiwan and Indonesia. After a ten year stint in Hotels Patrick opened his own Café & Restaurant in Kiama New South Wales, called "Black Rock" which was highly successful. "Saltwater" was his second  business venture in the same town where he previously resided for  nineteen years. Patrick along with his wife Elizabeth are now embarking on their own new adventure of hosting guests at Marengo Beach Studios and would love to have you along for the ride. You are in good hands!



After a long and varied career in hospitality Elizabeth "Liz" Murphy is thrilled to put her skills and experience into an accommodation destination in Apollo Bay. Liz began working in hospitality straight out of school and has been exploring all aspects of the industry ever since. Liz studied catering and hotel management and is also a qualified chef. She has worked extensively front and back of house in many states of Australia as well a running her own catering business in Apollo Bay and surrounds. Liz has a long history with Apollo Bay and The Great Ocean Road and will be able to pass on her knowledge of this stunning area to the guests. She also has a passion for surfing this coastline, gardening, wellness and yoga. She studied to be a yoga instructor in 2013 and is able to offer yoga classes to the guests by appointment. Liz is hoping that visitors will enjoy the  beautiful setting in this amazing part of the world as much as she and Paddy do.
